Motivation Ebbs & Flows
It’s February 2nd. The excitement of the New Year has probably worn off. Did you make a resolution to improve your health in some way? Is it time for a push?

You are in that really cool place where you get to sit back and reflect on where you were on January 1 and where you are now, 33 days later. REFLECT!
Think about your goals. Are they intrinsic or extrinsic? What kind of goal(s) did you make? Are they S.M.A.R.T. (Smart, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time Specific)? If you answered yes to all of the above and still find yourself on the struggle bus, don’t fret! This is the fun part. Here are a few things you can do on your own to hit those goals:
- Refine. Focus on one or two super clear actions. They should be S.M.A.R.T. (See above). If you need help, message me. I got you.
- Environment. Consider a post-it or two visible to you that has a goal reminder. Example, write something motivational like, “You got this!” because, you in fact, do. Reminders are fun.
- Celebrate. Did you not hit the snooze button one day and hit the gym instead? Did you swap a cookie for an apple? Yes! Celebrate that.
There are a lot reasons for motivation to fall to the wayside. Just remember change is not linear and ebbs and flows are part of the process to hitting your goals.
Fuel Well, T.
